8 Things You Should Bring With You On Your Next Beach Day

One of the best things to do in Destin is, of course, have a beach day. Five Star Properties and Bliss Beach Rentals have plenty of gulf front properties that put the beach in your backyard, but it’s still important to prepare ahead of time before you spend the day out in the sun. Here are eight items you should bring along on your next beach day!

1. Sunscreen

The Florida sun is not something you should mess around with. That’s why sunscreen with at least SPF 15 is super important when you go to the beach. Nothing can ruin a beach day quite like a really bad sunburn, so make sure you’re prepared.

2. Snacks

If you plan on staying at the beach for a long time, you’ll probably want to pack some snacks. Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches, watermelon, and other non-perishable food items are a good choice to make sure your food stays fresh.

3. Water

Staying hydrated in the heat is extremely important when you’re at the beach. That’s why it’s a good idea to pack some bottled waters for everyone before you leave. Aluminum water bottles are a great way to keep your water cold throughout the day too.

4. Sunglasses

With sunlight reflecting off the water and our snowy white sand, the beach can get pretty bright. That’s why sunglasses are really nice to have at the beach so you won’t spend the whole afternoon squinting.

5. Floaties

Floaties and life jackets are obviously important for younger children for safety purposes, but even adults enjoy floating in innertubes. Few things are more fun than letting the waves rock you while you’re lounging on a floaty.

6. Towels

This seems like a no-brainer, but it’s still worth mentioning. Towels are multi-purposeful at the beach because they’re not only good for drying off, but also laying out on the beach and keeping sand away.

7. Shoes

The sand and pavement get pretty hot in the summer, so it’s a good idea to wear your shoes on the walk over. Wearing flip flops or other shoes that you can easily shake the sand out of are the best choice.
