Fourth of July means weenie roasts, cold beer, good friends, and fireworks, but while in Destin you can add a few more activities to that list. The following list of things to do during your Fourth of July stay in Destin has been composed by the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce to aid visitors in finding activities to keep busy during their stay. From fireworks to shows to discounted museum admission, you can find it all right here in Destin! July 3-July 5 -Smoke on the Coast BBQ and Fireworks Festival: To celebrate our country’s independence and the opening of their new addition, Destin Commons will host a fun-filled day of food of fireworks on July 3! -Red, White, and Blue Celebration: Harborwalk will host a tribute to a local hero with live entertainment and a WWII plane flyover at 6pm on July 3. -Beach Blast at Elephant Walk: More fireworks, face painting, bon fires, live performance by Bo Adams, and more at 6pm in Sandestin on July 3. -Americana Under the Stars: Take on the open mic and watch a live performance by the Bridget Kelly Band at Topsail Hill State Preserve on July 3. -$1 Admission to the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida: On July 4, the museum will offer admission for a buck to celebrate the history of the area on Independence Day. -Fireworks and Dinner Cruise Celebration: Dance to live music, enjoy coastal cuisine, and watch fireworks aboard the 125 ft. Solaris Yacht on July 4. -City of Destin’s Fireworks: At 9pm on July 4, the city of Destin will host its annual firework show over the Gulf. -On July 5, Gypsy Riot will play at Harborwalk Village with no cost for admission. The concert will be taking place on the main stage at Harborwalk at 7pm. 2014
